1. Were you listed on the electoral roll? If you weren't
then why not sort this out now? Its fairly simple - the list is now updated
on a rolling register which means you can be added at anytime. You usually
need to prove who you are with some ID and a recent utility bill from
your address.
2. Satisfied County Court Judgements - if you've paid
a CCJ then make sure this is recorded properly. The county court will
tell you how to get a of "Certificate of Satisfaction"
3. Incorrect County Court Judgements - are they correct?
If not contact the court and get them corrected.
4. Bancruptcy Order annuled or cancelled but not showing?
Send the credit history agent a copy of the 'Order of Discharge' or 'Annulment
Certificate'
5. Credit accounts settled but not shown. Contact the
company and ask them to also contact the credit history agency too.
6. Wrong information on record about you - contact the
credit history agency and they will correct this. This can either be a
person added, or an address. Your credit history should only contain information
about you and your addreses.
7. Add an explanation - you can add up to 200 words explanation
to your credit history (Be very honest and don't expect to be able to
wipe away all your problems using this method)
8. Duplicate applications - you can ask the companies
concerned to remove duplicated applications. (As long as you did only
apply once!)
In most cases you'll need to reapply for your credit file to see an improvement.
